Hurricanes and a Baby

I live in South Florida. Just recently moved back down here, actually, after a 20-year stint working for NASA in Central Florida. And what a welcome I received with Charlie and Frances. Thanks guys, I really needed that 2" of water in my living room and my tenant moving
out for good. As the French say...c'est la vie (That's life).

The other reason I resigned from working for NASA after 20 years is to be together with my new baby (Christian)and wife in Miami. The reason for Miami are several. I grew up there, have family there, and my wife and baby are there. The reason my wife has to live down here and
can't up where I worked at NASA is because she has a business she owns that cannot be relocated to Central Florida.

It's ok, I'm really enjoying myself down here and am now dedicating myself to working with those wanting to get in great shape. So far I'm loving every minute of it.

For you Floridians, I know we're not out of the woods yet with Ivan barreling down for the west coast of Florida. So keep tight, batten the hatches, and I'll pray that you come out ok.

Lesson 12 - Defeat Your Greatest Saboteur (and 4 Ways To Do It)

Want to know what one of your body’s most powerful defense mechanisms for preventing you from losing fat is?

HUNGER

That’s right, plain old hunger pangs are the worst enemy for any dieter.

We have evolved over millions of years to our present form. Our bodies have developed powerful mechanisms that have allowed us to survive and thrive this long. And one of the methods it has developed is a powerful hunger reflex.

When you become hungry, suddenly everything else becomes unimportant in your quest to feed yourself. Our bodies instinctly know we cannot survive more than a few days without ingesting food.

So this extremely strong and, some would say, most powerful of all instincts we possess as humans is our biggest adversary in our quest for the perfect body. I’m telling you this up front because I want you to be prepared for the inevitable battles you will wage against yourself;
Unless you follow some of the guidelines I’m going to show you.

This opponent is so strong I'm going to arm you with the most powerful weapons I know of to help fend it off.

We all know how it feels to get powerful hunger pangs when you’ve gone a long time without eating. The usual scenario is we don’t care what we put into our bodies as long as it’s quick and easy (and of course tasty is also paramount too).

Except these quick, easy, and tasty foods are usually ones that are not exactly the best ones for you if staying lean and fit is your goal. So what is the answer?

 

 

Learn About an Exercise Program That Really Works and Makes Your Body Lose Fat Like Crazy

 


Willpower will only go so far. However, there are several things you can do to keep hunger at bay.

ONE

Consume at least 5-6 very small meals per day making sure your total calorie levels are below your maintenance requirements. This is one way that will help to curb your hunger pangs. The key here is to never allow yourself to get ravenously hungry.

TWO

Here's another way that is mired in controversy. I'm not recommending this to you, but it's something I, and millions of others have done -- safely -- to help us lose fat.

You can artificially suppress your appetite.

If you are healthy and caffeine doesn’t bother you then caffeine can help. Caffeine is a pretty good appetite suppressor. An even better combination is when you combine caffeine with mahuang, or ephedra. This is a powerful appetite suppressant. In fact, this combination is
used in many countries as a highly effective weight loss prescription formula.

Ephedra is a little more powerful than caffeine and should only be used by those in good cardiovascular health with no underlying diseases. Please check with your doctor if you’re not sure. Start with the smallest dosage you can to assess its effects on you. Then gradually over time work up to taking the recommended dose on the bottle.

Water, and lots of it, will go a long way towards helping you feel fuller and will reduce your feelings of hunger. A lack of water has also been shown to reduce your metabolic rate which is the last thing you want happening.

Removing temptation from your house can dramatically help you. My willpower is no stronger than anyone else’s. I know if I have goodies in the house I am much more likely to indulge in them than if I had to get in the car and get them at the store.

If there is nothing there for me to munch on when I get the urge for something sweet except prescribed foods, I have a much less chance of falling off the wagon. This is where healthy snack alternatives like fruit come into play.

One of the best snacks for me is good old plain watermelon. You won’t believe how incredibly good watermelon tastes when you are craving a sweet snack. Watermelon is high in natural sugars that give it a distinctly sweet taste.

Plus, it is loaded with fiber and super packed with antioxidants so it’s incredibly good for you. The fiber will fill you up in no time, I promise you, with not that much of a dent made to your calorie levels.

I’m not giving you carte blanche to eat it all the time, just when that powerful urge strikes.

Are your children not the most important things in the world to you? Shouldn’t you be providing them with quality foods all the time? And I’m sorry I’ve gotten a little off track here but this subject is really a passionate one for me.

With the escalating rates of disease in this country because of the way we eat, and the continuation of the disease-promoting eating lifestyles we’re following it’s like a vicious cycle. You have the power to cut this cycle short and start a new one based on wholesome, nutritious
foods that will promote health, not destroy it.

As I step off my soapbox I want to remind you that from now on there really is no excuse. It’s your choice on whether you want to do this for you and your children or not. A lack of time, or any other reason, should not be a valid excuse when it comes to the health and welfare of
your family
